Rare pair of Pierre Jeanneret lounge chairs.
Designed in 1953, this chair, of which very few were made, is amongst the first forms created by Pierre Jeanneret upon arriving in Chandigarh. The form was used personally by Jeanneret and his colleagues in his private residence.
Solid teak structure, can be easily dismantled and assembled. ‘Bridge’-type profiled leg assembly. Backrest in cotton cord, seat of crisscrossing broad cotton straps.
Stenciled marks to reverse of each chair: WEB/Rope Chair 38 and WEB/Rope Chair 43.
Measurements: 21.5" width, 24" depth, 29" height, 11.5" seat height
